Spice Market Atlanta was created by world renown Chef Jean–Georges Vongerichten. Spice Market Atlanta is inspired by the vibrant street life of Southeast Asia, Spice Market enchants Atlantans with fun and adventurous flavors served in a relaxed, alluring environment at W Atlanta – Midtown. The menu displays complex blends of seasonings and layers of flavor that ignite the taste buds. Exotic curries and spices are uniquely tweaked and executed by Chef de Cuisine Ian Winslade, creating tantalizingly bold dishes.
OK so what is the hidden “bombshell menu item”. Its the Bento Box they serve at lunch seven days a week. It is simply the best deal in town both in quality, presentation and value. For “sixteen bucks” you get a stunning bento box infused with Sweet Pea Soup Chili and Mint, Avocado and Radish Salad Chinese Mustard with Tempura Onions , choice of Chicken, Lamb, or Beef Satay, Cod with Malaysian Chili Sauce Thai Basil, jasmine or brown rice, dessert choice of Ovaltine Kulfi, Caramelized Banana, Spiced Milk Chocolate Sauce or Ice Cream or Sorbet served in old fashioned chinese take out containers, choice of any house-made non-alchohlic beverage: Cherry Yuzu Soda, Passion Chili Soda Jasmine Lemon Soda Fresh Ginger Ale Iced Green Tea. Are you getting this. $16 for a five course meal with hand-crafted beverage in a world class restaurant. The courses are extracted from the restaurant menu and are not the lowest cost throwaways or items going bad that day. Everything is cooked spot on and pack with flavor. A dozen visits later and I still can’t believe how they do it. I forgot to mention the tasty and bountiful home-made lentil crisp flatbread and asian dipping sauces served with all meals. Last but not least is a professionally trained staff lead by Assistant General Manager Megan Shaw and UK import Executive Chef Ian Winslade who has been wowing Atlanta for years. Spacious tables and booths make this a very comfortable dining experience in a big open space. The Spice Market at the W Midtown is a “winner”.
Jean-Georges Vongerichten is “one of the most celebrated chefs on the planet”. He was born in Alsace, France in 1956 and now resides in the United States of America. Vongerichten commands a global empire of restaurants in culinary capitals that includes venues in Las Vegas, London, Paris and Shanghai, Atlanta as well as New York’s three-Michelin-starred Jean Georgesrestaurant. He is author of four cookbooks, two with Mark Bittman.
