Alpharetta City Center is a 26-acre mixed-use property developed in partnership with the City of Alpharetta to expand the existing downtown historic district by six city blocks. The city opened its new City Hall, a new Fulton County Library, the five-acre Brook Street Park, the one-acre Town Green, and the 445-car parking deck in January 2015, followed by the shops, restaurants and apartments opening throughout 2018 and 2019.
A partnership of South City Partners and Morris & Fellows developed the street-level shops of “The District,” and “Amorance,” 168 luxury apartments. Alpharetta is a city located in northern Fulton County, Georgia, United States and is a suburb north of Atlanta. As of the 2010 census, Alpharetta’s population was 57,551. The estimated population in 2017 was 65,799.
Alpharetta is located in northern Fulton County at 34°4′24″N 84°16′52″W (34.073318, −84.281086). It is bordered to the southeast by Johns Creek, to the south and west by Roswell, to the north by Milton, and to the northeast by unincorporated land in Forsyth County. Downtown Alpharetta is 26 miles (42 km) north of downtown Atlanta.
According to the United States Census Bureau, Alpharetta has a total area of 27.3 square miles (70.7 km2), of which 26.9 square miles (69.7 km2) is land and 0.39 square miles (1.0 km2), or 1.37%, is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 34,854 people, 13,911 households, and 8,916 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,631.6 people per square mile (630.0/km²). There were 14,670 housing units at an average density of 686.7 per square mile (265.2/km²). The population has been gradually increasing over the last decade. During the workday, the city swells to more than 120,000 residents, workers, and visitors, due to the more than 3,600 businesses that are located in the city.
