Harold Shumacher and Peter Kruskamp, of the Shumacher Group, Inc., represented Ruth’s Chris in their recent acquisition of 11655 Haynes Bridge Road Alpharetta, Georgia. The property sits on just over 2.7 acres

Originally operated as Rainwater, the 18,000 sq. ft. building was built in 2001 and initially operated by the Fotos Family.

With the acquisition, Ruth’s Chris Atlanta operating partners; Jim Brooks, Phil Brooks and Nancy and Mark Oswald will close their Sandy Springs location and re-open in the early to mid fall in the new building.

According to co-owner Jim Brooks, “Sandy Springs was a wonderful location for over 20 years but the Haynes Bridge site offers the ability to be in a distinct trade area from our other three Atlanta restaurants (Downtown, Buckhead and Kennesaw) with the bonus of unprecedented event space.

“The second floor will accommodate 200 for a seated dinner and is perfect for weddings, receptions and corporate functions, “ added partner Mark Oswald.

Ruth’s Chris Steak House to move its Sandy Springs restaurant

ATLANTA, GA (June 16, 2014) – Continuing its signature sizzle with four metro Atlanta restaurants, Ruth’s Chris Steak House will move its existing Sandy Springs restaurant to Alpharetta in the fall of 2014, Franchisees Jim Brooks, Phil Brooks, Mark Oswald and Nancy Oswald, the largest franchisees of the internationally acclaimed brand, have purchased the property and building at 11655 Haynes Bridge Road just off Georgia 400, the states ‘Hospitality Highway.”

Designed in the tradition of a gracious vineyard estate, the 18,248 square foot restaurant was first built in 2001 by Atlanta’s Fotos family. It debuted in the Alpharetta market as Rainwater Restaurant and attracted a coveted DiRona (Distinguished Restaurants of North American award among owner culinary honors. The property was constructed for over $7 million with high-end, custom-designed features throughout and ample private dining and banquet facilities including a brick vaulted-ceiling wine room with climate controlled storage for over 9,000 bottles.

Located in one of metro Atlanta’s most affluent and sought after communities, Ruth’s Chris Alpharetta will feature a range of dining options for the restaurant’s guests – both for individual dining and for private events. When operating as Rainwater, the restaurant was named the “top Atlanta spot for your rehearsal dinner” by Modem Bride Magazine as well as “the best place to entertain” by Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles Magazine the restaurant, which boasts numerous private rooms including a banquet room that will accommodate up to 200 guests, will undergo a total refurbishment prior to reopening as Ruth’s Chris Steak House.

The Cuisine

Ruth’s Chris Alpharetta will offer the traditional favorites for which Ruth’s Chris is known worldwide as well as provide lagniappe – the little extras – of a world class dining experience. Engaging all five senses Ruth’s Chris prepares custom-aged USDA Prime steaks seared to perfection in custom- designed broilers at 1800 degrees and served on heated platters so your steak stays hot from the first bite to the very last, The Ruth’s Chris dining experience begins with a variety of New Orleans inspired appetizers such as Mushrooms Stuffed with Crabmeat, Barbecued Shrimp and Louisiana Seafood Gumbo. The focus of the menu, the signature steaks and chops section, features the expertly broiled Filet, a tender cut of corn-fed Midwestern beef, the full-flavored classic cut T-Bone and the New York Strip, a favorite of many steak connoisseurs.

Additionally, the menu’s wide selection of sides features an entire section devoted to potatoes with extra thin and crispy Shoestrings, Au Gratin in a three-cheese sauce and classic Mashed with a hint of garlic as well as exceptional sides such as Creamed Spinach and Broccoli au Gratin. Favorites include a classic Dirty Prime Martini with colossal blue cheese stuffed olives, a Raspberry Rosemary Cosmo, with fresh rosemary and raspberries and a Ruby Red Greyhound, with a hint of elderflower liqueur. Wine is an integral part of the Ruth’s Chris experience, where the over 300 labels are offered on an iPad beverage menu to enhance the guest experience, The Alpharetta restaurant will offer a spirited “Ruth’s Hour” daily featuring specialty cocktails and select appetizers/small plates at half-price during the late afternoon/early evening.
